First & LAST trip alone with Daddy! :o)

No, Noah wasn't really drinking the beer, or Jason for that matter. He just found an empty Bud can on the side of the road and thought it would be a great picture to send home to Mommy! This is somewhere in California.

Excitement at the No-Leash dog park!

Well, it all started out pretty normal. Noah, Gretta and I headed to Chatfield State Park where they have a No-Leash Dog Park. We were walking around the small ponds at the bottom of the spillway from the reservior. Noah in his stroller and Gretta running wild. It was a very windy day, but we were dressed warm enough and it was sunny, so we were comfortable. Noah finally had it and just had to get out of his stroller to throw rocks into the pond. I parked his stroller on the side of the path, put the brakes on, and walked down the bank to the water.

We were happily playing at the water's edge when we heard a weird scraping sound. I looked over and saw Noah's stroller screeching down the bank, with the brakes on, into the pond about 20 yards away! The wind caught the cover of the stroller and carried it straight down the bank! My car keys and iPod were sitting on top!! I grabbed Noah and ran to where the stroller had just splashed and was quickly sinking into the pond. Luckily I had my flip-flops and high-water "britches" on and ran right into the pond to retrieve it. I was sure I would have to go "fishing" for my things, but I was shocked to find that my car keys and iPod were still on top! My purse wasn't as lucky because it was in the storage pocket on the bottom which completely filled with water, but there wasn't much in it. If there was ever a time I really wanted to take a picture of something, this was it! But there was no time to waste. The stroller was sinking fast! It was a very funny sight and I wonder how many of the people on the other side of the pond got a kick out of it. That was our excitement for today!

Getting ready...

We are getting back into the swing of things; lots of running around and work to do for our snowmaking business. We are going to be loading up some snowmakers today to prepare for Jason's trip to Yellowstone Tracks Cross Country Ski area and everywhere in between. He's leaving on Sunday for 2 weeks. I really want to go but that's too much road time for Noah. We're going to miss him but our friends will keep us company!

We're back!

We have been very lazy for the last 3 days since we got back from TN. We're trying to get back into the routine. Jason, Noah and I are going to Aspen on Friday to sell some snowmakers, so we'll get to spend some fun time together and it is always beautiful there.

Those darn chickens!

We visited Noah's Great and my Grandma & Grandpa Johnson today. Grandpa, Noah and I took a walk to visit the dogs. Noah loves dogs! We need to get him one soon. Anyway, we were walking back to the house and passed the chickens pecking in the yard. Noah was lagging behind us a few feet and one of the roosters ran up and flogged him on his back. It knocked him down and then jumped on his back one more time before Grandpa and I got back to save him. I'm such a mean mom, but it was so hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing. He had on a thick coat, so I don't think it really hurt him. Poor little Noah cried, probably just because it scared him, but it was so funny! If the rooster had gotten him anywhere else but on the back, we would have had roast chicken for dinner compliments of Noah's mom!!! Luckily, Noah was fine and the rooster lived to see another day.
